The Youngsville Borough Project has been moved into the next phase of architectural design.  We've completed the schematic design phase and are currently working on design development.  The project was recently featured in a front-page article of the Times Observer.  To view the full article, click here, or for our current projects page dedicated to this project, click here.

Inscale was featured in a front page article of the Times Observer.  We have donated some of our time to conceptualize a visitor's center for the Pennsylvania Kinzua Pathways project.  See the full article here.

The Pennsylvania Kinzua Pathways project will enhance and focus attention on the natural beauty in the Allegheny Reservoir.  The project includes a visitor's center, mountain bike/hiking trails, amphitheatre, observation tower, etc.  Select green construction practices and systems will be used, making this project a pillar of sustainable design.  For more information, visit their Facebook page.

On September 19,  Inscale was invited to the Holistic Wellness Faire at the Women's Club in Warren.  Donna was asked to give a presentation about sustainable building strategies, as Inscale is very focused on the environmental impact our work has.  We presented our ideas about green architecture as well as a breakdown of some of the commonly used sustainable practices.  Listeners were excited to learn about the new technology as well as the simple steps that can make a home more sustainable.  Please visit our Green Architecture page for more information.

Inscale was asked by the YMCA to host a career day for their summer program.  We gladly accepted and had two groups of children with different activities planned.  The first group was K-2, Donna gave a short presentation about what it means to be an architect, then we moved on to activities.  We had planned a paper bag house project, which was a great success. The kids really enjoyed working on their homes, and had some excellent ideas.  The older group of children were in grades 3-6, their project was a bit more involved, we gave them a template of a room and some ideas of what to put in it.  They added some of their own concepts, like a bowling alley, hammocks, and many other creative ideas.  After each project, the kids presented their projects to their peers, in the same manner that architects do to their clients.

On July 31, 2009, Inscale president & co-owner Donna L. Zariczny  received certification from the Bureau of Minority and Women Business Opportunities.  We are proud to announce that we are now a certified Women's Business Enterprise.  Please see the Pennsylvania Department of General Services Bureau of Minority and Women Business Opportunities website for more information, including an overview of what it means to be a WBE as well as a database of other WBEs and MBEs.

Inscale was recognized in the March 2009 "Green Issue" of Erie Life Magazine.  We were chosen for our real-world approach to "Green" architecture.
