Chautauqua Suites

Challenge: Design a multi-function hospitality project on a former vacant big box department store building. The project consisted of the development of 20,000 sf of exposition center with commercial kitchen and bar, 8,000 sf dining facility and 90+ hotel rooms. The project had a very aggressive time frame and a host of approvals including special use permit, health department approval, NYSDOT approval and building code approval. Since the project construction was to ensue during the winter months in a northern climate, the project required solutions that were less dependent upon the weather.

Solution: The architects wrapped the former department store and industrial space to conceal the old building and create a totally new curbside appeal. All hotel rooms have a view of Chautauqua Lake, access to food service through the restaurant service located within the building and there is ample parking to accommodate the restaurant, expo center and hotel rooms. The project, from design, to approvals and through construction, was completed in 12 months.

Testimonial: “Jeff’s background in construction was very helpful with this project. He has the personality and experience makes him great to work with.” - Brent Galuppo
